Postponed for about one month, passing the Gaokao is a life changer for many students in China, being able to proceed for academic studies.

This year's Gaokao had been postponed due to COVID19 and all 10.71 million students (and the monitors) have undergone a 14-day health monitoring and temperature checks prior to the Gaokao exam this week.

Actually the applicants are not only high school students, principally anybody in China can take the exam at any age for entering academic studies as long as you have a high school diploma. Also if you have failed once, you can re-enter a next time.
