About 6,000 whooper swans have arrived in the coastal city of Rongcheng in Weihai, at the tip of the #Shandong province peninsula to spend the winter.

The swans migrate annually from #Siberia , the Inner #Mongolia autonomous region and China's northeastern regions and stay for around five months at a lake near the bay of Rongcheng, making it China's largest winter habitat for whooper swans.
The lake is a protected natural reserve with outlook posts, a museum and accommodation for the thousands of visitors every year coming to see the swans.
