December 20 saw the formal completion of ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐น๐ฑโ๐ ๐๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ผ๐ป๐ฑ ๐น๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ด๐ฒ๐๐ ๐ต๐๐ฑ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ฝ๐ผ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ฑ๐ฎ๐บ on an upstream branch of the Yangtze river in #Sichuan province. The Baihetan hydropower station is equipped with sixteen 1-gigawatt (GW) turbines, making it the second largest hydropower generator in China and the world, behind only the Three Gorges Project, also on the Yangtze river. The plant is estimated to generate 62.44 billion kilowatt-hour (kWh) annually which will save about 90.45 million tons of coal a year and cut annual carbon dioxide emissions by 248.4 million tonnes.

China's ๐น๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ด๐ฒ๐๐ ๐๐ป๐๐๐ฏ๐๐ถ๐ฑ๐ถ๐๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐ผ๐ณ๐ณ๐๐ต๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฒ ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ฝ๐ผ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ฝ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ท๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ has become fully operational in Shanwei, #Guangdong province since December 20 after the electricity generated from the last of the 128 wind turbines was connected to the grid. The renewable energy production base can supply 4.5 billion kilowatt hours of green electricity a year to Guangdong province. This will reduce traditional energy use by 1.45 million tons of standard coal and cut carbon dioxide emission by 3.5 million tons.

World's ๐ณ๐ฎ๐๐๐ฒ๐๐ ๐ต๐๐ฑ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ด๐ฒ๐ป-๐ฒ๐ป๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ด๐ ๐๐ฟ๐ฏ๐ฎ๐ป ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ถ๐ป rolled off the assembly line in #Chengdu, #Sichuan province on December 28. Jointly developed by CRRC Changchun Railway Co and Chengdu Rail Transit, the train has adopted the key core technology of the Fuxing bullet train, with a maximum speed of 160 kilometers per hour with a built-in "hydrogen power" system, reaching battery capacity of 600 kilometers.

Did you know that China currently has ๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐ป๐ฒ๐ ๐ป๐๐ฐ๐น๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฟ ๐ฝ๐ผ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐๐๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ ๐๐ป๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ฐ๐ผ๐ป๐๐๐ฟ๐๐ฐ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐ฝ๐น๐ฎ๐ป๐ป๐ฒ๐ฑ with the ambitious program to complete 150 additional nuclear reactors with a total of 200GW capacity by 2035.
