𝟭. April 20 – UNESCO Chinese Language Day. Students in #Almaty, #Kazakhstan write calligraphy at a cultural event for the UNESCO Chinese Language Day. UNESCO created Chinese Language Day in 2010 to celebrate Chinese as one of the six official languages of the United Nations. The day also celebrates 仓颉 Cangjie (2667-2596 BCE), who is said to have invented Chinese characters about 5,000 years ago. Legends say that when Cangjie finished, the gods rained grain upon the earth.

𝟮. April 20 – Smart greenhouse at the Anhui modern aeroponics agricultural science and technology demonstration park in Feidong County, #Hefei, #Anhui Province.

𝟯. April 16 – Astronauts Zhai Zhigang, Wang Yaping and Ye Guangfu (from left to right) landed on earth at the Dongfeng landing site in Inner Mongolia autonomous region after a 6 months stay in Tiangong Space Station.

𝟰. April 19 – A team of the Wanzhou Fisheries Research Institute in #Chongqing releasing Yangtze sturgeon fish in the Yangtze river. The institute has been breeding rare indigenous fish species such as Yangtze sturgeons, Yanyuan carps, Chinese suckers and others to maintain biodiversity of the Yangtze river.


𝟲. April 19 – Rescuers helping a stranded sperm whale in Xiangshan county of #Ningbo, #Zhejiang province. After a 20 hours rescue operation, the whale was returned to sea.
