Less than 2 months after the new Tianfu International Airport was opened in central China’s 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗱𝘂 (Sichuan province) in June, 𝗤𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗱𝗮𝗼 on the eastern peninsula of Shandong province opened its new Jiaodong International Airport earlier this month.

Both 4F class airports are major contributions to the expansion of national civil aviation infrastructure in China as well as the international integration and accessibility. While the Chengdu airport will have a 60 million passenger capacity by 2025, the new Qingdao airport is being able to handle 35 million passengers annually.

In addition to the widespread high speed train network in China built up in past decade, the government exposed their plan at the beginning of this year (14th Five Year Plan 2021-2025) to 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲 𝟯𝟬 𝗺𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 reaching a 𝘁𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗹 𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝟮 𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗱𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘀 per year in China.
