𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗶𝗰𝗵𝘂𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰 (SCCM,四川音乐学院) was founded in 1939. The conservatory is an interdisciplinary music institution in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan province. SCCM is one of the select conservatories authorized by the State Council to confer graduate degrees to its music and fine arts majors. The school has its own symphony orchestra, philharmonic orchestra, concert wind orchestra and Chinese traditional orchestra besides college choirs and ensembles. Every two years, the school hosts an intensive international piano festival, where students work with world-renowned artists.
𝗙𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗟𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗴 (1978) has been very popular in greater China for over two decades with ballads, great and lasting hits such as ‘Courage’. Born in Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia in a family from Cantonese descent, her mother tongue is Cantonese but she learned Mandarin when moving to Taiwan. She also played in movies and sang duets with other known Chinese singers.
