After exclusive pet hotels, restaurants, daycare or salons, the next phase in the lucrative and fast growing pet market in China are pet-inclusive vacations.

Tour operators are tapping the pet owner market by offering vacation packages adapted to bring their pets along the whole way.

Pet travel company, iBabyGO, has already been offering pet-inclusive charter flights from Shanghai to Hainan island since May. A round-trip economy class ticket for the trip costs about 4,500 yuan (USD 700) per pet, allocating them a seat in the cabin. The canines, however, must be less than 32.5 kilograms, hold valid pet registration and immunization certificates, and must stay in the animal carry case for the entire journey.

The first flight was sold out in 2 weeks and airports in Shanghai and Sanya have now opened a โ€œpet green channel,โ€ and arranged dedicated personnel to complete check-in and inspections.

iBabyGO is scheduling the expansions of their pet flight destinations to Changbai Mountain in the North-East of China this month.

This naturally all dependent on the COVID travel options and restrictions in place at that time...
